Residents

Manage household residents—people who live in or regularly use your household and need access to household information.

What Are Residents?

Residents are household members who:

  • Live in or regularly use your household
  • Need access to household information
  • Should be able to view or manage household content

Viewing Residents

  1. Go to PeopleResidents
  2. See all household members
  3. View their roles and access levels

Inviting Residents

  1. Click "Add Member" or "Invite Member"
  2. Enter the person's email address
  3. Choose their role:
    • Member - Custom permissions you control. Choose what they can view, edit, or manage.
    • Admin - Full access to everything. Can manage members, permissions, and all household features.
  4. If you chose Member, select their permissions:
    • Choose a preset (View Only, Editor, Admin, or Custom)
    • Or customize permissions for each feature
    • See Permissions for details about permission levels
  5. Click "Send Invitation"

The person receives an email invitation. When they accept it, they'll automatically gain access with the permissions you set. Invitations expire after 7 days.

Managing Permissions

To change a resident's permissions:

  1. Find the resident
  2. Click their name or edit button
  3. Go to the Permissions section
  4. Modify their permissions as needed
  5. Save your changes

Changes take effect immediately. See Permissions for more information about managing permissions.

Removing Residents

To remove a resident:

  1. Find the resident
  2. Click remove or delete
  3. Confirm the removal

Note: Removing a resident immediately revokes their access to your household.

Tips

  • Only invite people you trust
  • Give people the minimum access they need using permissions
  • Start with a permission preset and customize if needed
  • Periodically review who has access and their permissions
  • Remember that Admins automatically have all permissions
  • You can always change permissions later if needs change
